  2. I felt the weight of the fish in 'The Red Tree'...this image puts that one into perspective. This could be on the top of one of the black heads you did in May - as could the 'domain of a black animal'... this is a haunting image full of wonder.

  3. Thanks. It's an accidental picture (and so not really a quotation, though I see the similarity). I started out drawing a nice stony hill, and then turned the paper around as I often do when working to check balance: and it happened to look a lot better upsidedown! So then I drew a new horizon and put the little home under the inverted hill. There's some important meaning there... just not sure what it is.

    2. I think the contrast of the rough of the stone hill and smooth sky creates adds to the dynamic too. Lightness and space v weight and density.
